Teams from The Barden Corporation (UK) Limited and Schaeffler UK once again donned fancy dress costumes to battle it out against each other in their third It's a Knockout competition this August.
The teams, including shady-looking cops and robber, neon dancers from FAME and some very orange Oompa Loompa's, enthusiastically competed against each other for the title of It's a Knockout Champions.
The games saw teams leaping hurdles while balancing glasses of water on their heads, climbing an inflatable wall and jumping into water for a very wet game of bingo. Used on the day were some of the costumes from the original 1970's Knockout TV series which brought a touch of nostalgia to the event.
A typically cloudy summer's day didn't dampen the spirits of the contenders and their families and friends, who turned up to cheer the teams on. Contenders from other local companies joined a fine turnout from Barden and Schaeffler UK employees, with 11 teams competing on the day.
The overall winners of the event and the trophy shield were 'The Obsolete Old Boys' from Schaeffler UK, while the 'Barden Bad Girls' took the prize for best costume.
HR Manager at Barden UK, Nicola Morrish, commented: "Yet again we've been amazed by the turnout and the enthusiasm shown for the event. Despite the fact that we're all a little damp, everyone is still smiling and has had a great time. It's wonderful to see everyone willing to join in and embrace the spirit of the games."
She added: "Schaeffler UK putting teams forward for the event has been a big bonus and we've seen some friendly rivalry today. This is the second time our Schaeffler colleagues have participated and we hope they'll come back next year to give us a chance to regain the trophy!"
